Filed under: Racing News — umwsc @ 3:13 am

Nearly all of the thirty-three Indianapolis 500 drivers, plus a few other celebrities slipped into denim instead of their trademark yellow racing jackets and essentially added some big-time bling last week for the yearly Jeans & Jewels charity event. It was a good time to bust out the yellow gold chain, rose gold chain, diamond earrings and other bling bling jewelry. All in all, the event in question raises money for the Indy Family Foundation, a very worthy cause which features financial aid to certain members of the racing community in emergencies, and The Women’s Fund of Central Indiana. It was a big success and drew some five hundred to six hundred guests. Among the professional racecar drivers and celebrities who were there included Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti and actress Ashley Judd. Speaking of jewelry, a thirty-Year-Old Woman was Charged With Grand Theft After a major series of Jewelry thefts. Specifically, a woman identified as Jennifer Michelle Denney has been charged with six counts of grand theft and six counts of dealing in stolen property, after allegedly stealing jewelry from homes while she was gainfully employed at as a house cleaner.
Eventually the woman was charged after a joint investigation with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Niceville Police Department. Denney remains in jail at the Okaloosa County Jail waiting for her first appearance in court. Denney was arrested, according to Investigator Bob Grappone, after stealing over thirty thousand dollars in jewelry from several homes that she was employed as a house cleaner.
