Online Sting nabs Colorado Officer on Criminal Charges

Filed under: Off Topic — Tags: — umwsc @ 2:25 am

I just returned from Miami and Washington, time to write some more. In some somewhat Off Topic news fcoming out of Denver and Miami, former police chief to the town of Calhan and a police officer at the University of Colorado identified as 38 year old Todd Vecellio was arrested after an online sting. All in all, some good Washington criminal defense lawyers could be of some assistance in this case except that the criminal defense trial is not being held in the state of Washington.
He was apparently caught outside of a liquor store in Penrose, after he had made some arrangements on the web to meet with a single mother plus her 13-year old daughter to have intercourse with the mother and daughter together. However, this particular single mother was actually an undercover police officer. There may not be much legal defense for this kind of documented criminal behaviour since it would seem that the Distric Attorney office would have very good evidence but obviously he is innocent untill actually proven guilty of a criminal charge.
The defendent has been arrested and booked for criminal attempted sexual exploitation of children, solicitation and conspiracy to an commit assault on a child. All in all, Vecellio has 6 very serious felony charges against him as a result of this online sting. Big time praise should be heaped upon Colorado Police Department for their fast and decisive moves to keep their house clean and make certain that justice was served. Incidentially if you need a leading Miami Criminal Defense Lawyers then by all means take a look at the Law offices as they are some of the top Criminal Defense Lawyers that you will find.
In a statement from the University of Colorado stated that they do not believe Vecellio had any improper contact with students. They also stated that he has been suspended without pay until the outcome of the judicial process. The University also stated that they could cooperate completely with the Canon City Police Department during the criminal investigation. Vecellio is currently in the Freemont County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash only bail awaiting his defense preparation and trial. Obviously this guy needs a good Criminal Defense Attorney. This story makes me want to go back to Miami for a while. This case reminds me of a criminal defense from Washington from a few years back.

Police Employee Accused of Criminal Activity with Underage Girl

Filed under: Off Topic — Tags: — umwsc @ 9:07 pm

I just got back from the Seattle area and just wanted to share this criminal news article from the state of Colorado. A Denver police employee who works with the juvenile intake bureau has been charged with 2 felony counts of criminal assault. All in all, defendent named as sixty-one year-old James Edward Dennis possibly, if the criminal charges hold up,  took a young girl to lunch at a fast food restaurant and then to a house where he reportedly touched the girl in an inapropriate manner. Do you think he may need a criminal defense attorney or what?
Apparently the victim told authorities after telling her parents according to Aurora Police Detective William Cavalieri that the incident occurred last spring, and that while with Dennis she did a handstand and Dennis put his hand down her pants and asked her if she liked it.  She told him to stop and his reply was that he was a little drunk. By the way if you happen to live in Seattle and need a competent seattle criminal defense attorney then I recommend that you look at this site. Here you can find a top notch seattle criminal defense attorney, not only for seattle but also for nearby communities in the greater Puget Sound region such as Bellevue, Tacoma and Everett.
Cavalieri also stated Dennis told her to keep quiet about the incident and the victim told Dennis’ wife who also told her not to tell anyone. She then told her mother and grandmother who contacted the authorities in question. Dennis has been suspended without pay and has since being charged with the alleged criminal offenses filed for retirement. He has been with the Denver Police Department since 1979 and was charged with the criminal activity on September 22. He is scheduled to appear in court in early October. Obviously, this guy needs a good criminal defense attorney. Kudos to the outstanding police department there for acting quickly to bring justice to the situation.
