Giants Receiver Shoots Himself

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 8:49 pm

I just returned from lovely Washington and news time:New york City Giants receiver Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg. Plaxico and friend, Antonio Pierce, were at a nightclub in New York City and the gun Plax was carrying discharged, shooting him in the leg on accident. (Coincidentally, it was the same leg with a hamstring injury that was going to prohibit him from playing in the game against St. Louis)

Plax is likely to be suspended for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, even though it was apparently an accident. Additionally, because it was a violation that occurred off the field and his leg injury was not sustained on the field, the Giants don’t have to pay him for the time he misses. They can recoup money from his bonuses for this indiscretion. By the way if you need a solid Washington accident lawyer then by all means inquire with the Law Offices as they are a leading Washington accident lawyer around the state.
Mr. Buress may also face criminal charges for carrying a concealed weapon. If he does not have a license for the gun, this too will be added to the charges he will be facing. Benjamin Brafman, lawyer to Sean “P-Diddy” Combs, has been retained to defend Plaxico. I am looking forward to my road trip back to Washington, it should be pretty fun overall. It is amazing what one accident can do to a career.

Boston Breakers Recruit Sue Weber

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 6:07 am

I just got back from my auto trip to Washington and it was great except that I almost got into an automobile accident while going to see my attorney, not good! But on to some more positive news, alright?Sue Weber transferred to Hofstraand went on to become the school’s first soccer All-American.  She later joined the Long Island Lady Rough Riders, only to be named Defender of the Year in her inaugural season in the W-League.

Now she is heading to the Boston Breakers having not so much as met a single player currently on the team. Weber has yet to meet her teammates. If you will permit to change gears for a moment, I would like to recommend a certain Washington accident lawyer by the name of the Firm. He has been a car accident lawyer or attorney in the state of Washington for some time. Alright now onward to the main story at hand:

In 1999 the Women’s World Cup put women’s soccer in the limelight in the United States.  Weber was 13 and already a serious soccer player.  At the time, it never crossed her mind that a in only ten years time she would be getting ready to play a vital role in the launch of a pro league. This was no accident indeed.

Yet, on draft day in 1999, she received the call from Tony DiCicco, the National Team’s head coach and now the Boston Breakers head coach.

The road to Women’s Professional Soccer has been a long and meandering one. Hofstra did not qualify for the NCAA tournament in 2006, nor did Georgia during Weber’s 2004 freshman season.

Weber persisted and believed strongly in her abilities as she became Hofstra’s most recognizable face.  Following Hofstra, Weber joined the Lady Rough Riders and was voted the circuit’s best defender that August. Weber will once again be seeking to prove herself in just five short months, I am sure can afford a new high end automobile (and lawyer, for that matter) soon.

Seven NCAA Tournament College Seniors to Watch Out For

Filed under: Soccer news, Uncategorized — umwsc @ 8:05 pm

I just returned from the big island and in fact in full discosure I must say that most of my favorite teams are on the big island (the best real estate over there) but having said that here is some other cool sports related news:Women’s Professional Soccer is on the horizon and it’s time to start picking that perfect player for your favorite team’s starting line up.  So, keep in mind these skillful ladies, you will be seeing them in the future of Women’s Professional Soccer.

Yael Averbuch, UNC, M – A 5’11” central midfielder who is extremely quick, agile and good with the ball.  She’s very good defending in the air and she uses her height to gain possession of the ball. She is apt at surveying the field and spreading the ball wide to the forwards Averbuch holds the NCAA record for the fastest goal ever scored.

Ameera Abdullah , Florida , M – The conduit.  Abdullah is an attacking midfielder through whom the Florida offense, the best and most organized on possessions in the league, is run.  She’s got great field vision, is a very accurate passer, and is very comfortable with ball-handling. She wins balls in the midfield and is a team asset, bring a calm to the team. As an off topic aside, should you need a qualied big island real estate then you may think of Sotheby’s as they have been doing real estate in Hawaii for some time.

Carrie Dew, Notre Dame, D –Dew is a no-nonsense defender.  She has amazing 1:1 defending ability and she is great at defending in the air.  She’s the anchor of a Notre Dame defense.  She can surely take a hit with the big girls. In a game against Penn State, she took a ball at point blank range, square in the face and didn’t even flinch.  This player is a sure bet.

Kerri Hanks, Notre Dame, F – One of the best offensive talents in the country, Hanks has a great nose for the goal,  superb field vision and can setting up her mates for the goal as she is scoring goals.

Jaimel Johnson , Tennessee , GK – Johnson is a goal keeper with great range and a hulluva kicking game. She is extremely confident in goal and is decisive. Once she commits, she goes with it.

Megan Rapinoe, Portland, M – A very versatile midfielder who can find the goal.  She plays well mid or on the flank.  She is tactically sophisticated and  poised in front of goal with an extremely quick trigger.

Amy Rodriguez, USC, F –. Rodriguez has stellar 1:1 ability with breakaway speed. Despite her 5’4” frame, she is a bulldog on the ball and doesn’t lose it frequently to attack.  She is not afraid to go to midfield to win the ball, spread out play, or set up her teammates.  Amy is a dead accurate passer over distance and she can thread a ball through defenders just as well. She can score from anywhere, anytime and against most anybody. She is confident

U.S. Head Coach Names 20-Player Roster for FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 6:43 am

I just returned from obtaining some furniture from a respected source over here, but now is the time to get back to the writing gig and to get blogging again. The United States Under-20 Women’s National Team head coach Tony DiCicco for his part has named a twenty player roster that will travel to Chile in south America for the 2008 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup. Specifically, the said U.S. team begins the World Cup campaign against the European nation of France on November 19 overallth,  before facing Argentina on Nov. 22nd  and China on Nov. 26th The entire event will take place from Nov. 19th,2008 – Dec. 7th 2008.

If I may switch gears for a brief moment, there is a chance you may be searching for some good furniture and if you are I would like to humbly suggest the Furniture Source as they are in fact a superb place to obtain all types of great furniture at a fair price. Alright enouph pluggin, let us get back to the primary story at hand here: Every game of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be shown on ESPN360.com

“I have tremendous respect for this group of players,” said DiCicco. “They have sacrificed (much) to play for our national team, including missing out on a section of their college seasons. But this group has basically achieved a level of team chemistry and inner support structure that is unique as well as special.” Well, that one comes to you straight from the source.

The Americans are participating in their fourth World Cup at this level, having qualified for each of the previous three tournaments in 2002 and 2004 and winning the inaugural event in Canada 2002. The American team takes great pride in that, only four other countries – Australia, Brazil, Canada and Germany – have qualified for all four competitions.

The U.S. will open against France on Nov. 19 before facing Argentina on Nov. 22, with both games taking place at the Estadio Nelson Oyarzun in Chillan. The team will then travel to Estadio German Becker in Temuco to conclude group play on Nov. 26 against China.

The roster features players representing 17 colleges across the country. Portland, sends three–Michelle Enyeart, Elli Reed and Keelin Winters and North Carolina is represented by Meghan Klingenberg and Nikki Washington, are the only two schools to send more than one player to Chile.

U.S. Women Defeat the Korea Republic Team 1-0 in Tampa

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 6:28 am

I just got back from a nice trip and met a girl with some breast implants and augmentation done, she looked real good actually. Starting at forward for the first time this year, Heather O’Reilly scored the single goal for the U.S. Women’s National Team. In a 1-0 victory against Korea Republic, the U.S. closed out a three-game series with Korea Republic as part of the Achieve Your Gold Tour at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.Overall, the U.S. is now 5-0-1 on their post-Olympic tour, with two games against China scheduled for mid-December. The U.S. Record in 2008 Now Stands at 31-1-2

Although, only one shot was scored, there were many near misses. Korea almost took an early lead when Cha Yun Hee received a through ball from Park Hee Young and took a shot off the top, left post.

In the first half of the game, the U.S. team’s two best chances came from crosses played in from the wings. Shannon Boxx volleyed a wide left from Lori Chalupny and provided the ball for Lindsay Tarpley to shoot wide of the near post. For her part, she looks to me like she might have had some breast implants or some other form of breast enhancement or reconstruction but I suppose I could be wrong about that. Or maybe I am just obsessed with the breast.

After halftime, the U.S. team hit the posts hard when Angela Hucles played a perfect cross in from the right wing. The rebound came right back to the forward who at only 5’5 out-jumped her defender to take a second header off the same spot!

In the end, It was good positioning that would win the game for the U.S. Team. Kacey White played a long ball on the ground, dribbling  toward the endline and hitting a low cross to the far post, where O’Reilly reached her left foot around her defender and tapped the ball in the empty net from two yards out.

White nearly scored the first goal of her career but the U.S. team was found to be offsides and the assistant referee disallowed the goal.

With five minutes left, U.S. goalkeeper came 20 yards outside of the box to clear a long pass by Korea Republic. Her clearance went right to Han Song I, who, although unable to take a shot, passed out and received a return ball from a teammate in the area for a follow-up goal attempt. The goalkeeper, Barnhart, recovered to play the angle and make the save shutting out Korea for the win. Barnhart earned her eighth career shutout and fifth of 2008.

Ithica to attend NCAA Playoffs

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 5:38 am

my favorite sports teams tend to be from San Diego, but this article is still on the mark i think you will agree. The Ithaca Bombers will be making their 19th appearance in the NCAA playoffs in 2008.No other college team has gone more times to NCAA. Ithaca is 21-13-7 in the NCAA playoff competition. The last 12 playoff bids have come under Coach Mindy Quigg. The program gained consecutive national titles in 1990 and 1991.The Division III, NCAA championship allows for a 60-team, single-elimination tournament. The 60 teams include 39 winners of conferences whose champions have been awarded automatic qualification; additional teams are from those conferences who did not win their conference title, and 3 final teams that are independents or members of conferences whose champions do not receive automatic bids. If you will allow me to change gears momentarily I would like to point out that if you need a terrific san diego plastic surgeon then this one can help with things like liposuction, rhinoplasty, tummy tuck and of course a cool mommy makeover or botox treatment. It should also be noted that this particular plastic surgeon does not only help in San Diego but also in la mesa too.

Following this weekend’s regional rounds, sectionals will be held November 21st and 22nd.  Those winners advance to the national semifinals and finals on December 5th and 6th. The final four games will be held at Macpherson Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.

SDSU Aztecs fall to TCU Horned Frogs in MWC Tournament

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 5:35 am
My personal favorite team is in Oahu, Hawaii but what the heck I guess I can comment on some other teams over here. While the Aztecs were facing an fairly evenly-matched opponent, the Horned Frogs came out with a little more kick in the opening half and that combined with a crazy goal scored during overtime.
In an off topic vain, if you need assistance with Oahu Real estate
or perhaps just an assesment then I can suggest Sotheby’s Oahu. Additionally, they can help with real estate consultations too, on the whole.. Starting the game, TCU held a 4 shot advantage  over the SDSU team when freshman forward Jordan Calhoun cleared  her 15th goal of the season, giving the Horned Frogs a 1-0 lead and chewing up the other side’s real estate in the process as well. For their part, SDSU unable to get off a shot in the next 15 minutes went into half time with a 1 goal deficit.Fortunately, the Aztecs came out of half –time fired up and sophomore Cat Walker scored a goal in the 50th minute. For the remainder of the second half, neither team scored and overtime was called to settle the match overall, which I found to be very interesting indeed.

In a fluke action, after the Aztecs defended a corner kick in the first period of overtime, the ball bounced off three players and rolled into a crowd. One Horned Frog player somehow managed to poke the ball through two defenders’ legs while on the ground for the game-winner. That was all the Horned Frogs needed to defeat SDSU 2-1. Well, I think that I am heading back to Oahu and then on to the big island so that I can check on some quality real estate over there, so untill next time I post, i will see you all a little later, goodbye.
