Sports Injury News from Dallas, Texas

Filed under: accident/personal injury clinic Dallas — umwsc @ 10:18 pm

Good to be back in San Mateo by auto, back to the blogging, it has been a while. I had to repair my wordpress as well. A Texas A&M football player who was known much more for his heart than his playing was killed in a tragic auto accident Thursday December 22nd. The school’s senior offensive lineman tragically hit an 18-wheeler head-on after swerving into the oncoming lane to avoid a buzzard. I hope he had insurance. The accident took place about 40 miles from Texas A&M’s College Station location. All in all someone may require a good Dallas car accident lawyer or a wrongful death or for that matter accident lawyer:

The player was known for his selfless actions and words, especially when it came to his teamwork. He always was dedicated to trying to make his Aggies football team better, and that created much love in his direction from teammates. The senior was a letterman for all three previous seasons. Based on the fact he didn’t play much, this shows his high level of team participation.
This is why it is so important to retain health, life, long term care and disability insurance. Here in NC it is especially important due to accident and personal injury factors.
There is nothing that shows the fragility of life and life happiness more than a fatal car wreck. It seems so easy to lose someone we are close to based on national car accident statistics. Unfortunately, with someone like this college football star, it doesn’t just touch his friends and family, but the thousands of fans he had. If accidents do need to happen, we obviously always prefer them to have a non-fatal outcome. This is where Dallas clinics come in. As much as we can we need to create less hazardous driving conditions so that when an accident does occur, we won’t see such depressing results. Perhaps drivers such as the late Aggie should avoid two-lane, two-direction highways when at all possible. It is too easy to hit someone head-on on these high-speed roads, especially when something takes places that we weren’t prepared for, such as a giant animal crossing our driving path.
Doctors in Dallas clinics are there for us when we do make it alive out of a damaging car accident. Texas drivers are sometimes known for their hazardous driving with a Nascar-type thought process, so this increases the importance of having quality Dallas clinics and doctors prepared to work with auto accident injuries. When I lived in Dallas for two years, I had three car accidents, and all of them involved someone rear-ending my car, needing costly repair.
San Mateo is no picnic either for that matter. One even drove off right after hitting me. Since I’m from Missouri, the easy stereotype can be made that it’s the Texas driver factor that causes so many wrecks. This kind of thing is why I tell people here in San Mateo why it is so very important to get some San Mateo auto repair or for that matter,
Holland Car Care
22 South Claremont Street,
San Mateo, CA 94401
(650) 344-8815
auto insurance over here in San Mateo since lets face it,
This player’s death can be used to inspire us to make the roads safer due to his college football status making him loom larger than most other fatal accident victims. It should also lead to educating all drivers that it’s always smarter to swerve to the right than towards oncoming traffic when you avoid something in the road.

When Personal Injury happens in Sports Stadium Accidents

Filed under: Injury News — umwsc @ 10:28 pm

The Dallas Cowboy’s stadium underwent construction in 2008 that required the use of a large crane.
Unfortunately the cable on this crane snapped when it was being lifted off the ground, resulting in the injury of three workers. One man was fully struck by the cable that came loose while the two
others were able to jump out of the way. All three were taken to the hospital while conscious according to Dallas Cowboys spokesman Brett Daniels. If you are in Long Beach or Los Angeles county areas, then you may need a Long Beach injury attorney who also serves other location near Long Beach. Thankfully none of the personal injuries in question were life threatening but the recovery needed and expenses created for the people hurt can
create a lot of extra stress. This anxiety may be lessened with the help of an experienced attorney that can fight for anyone needing financial compensation due to an accident they were not at fault for.
Remember that it is your right to seek legal help if you have suffered personal injury and you should never feel alone, there are lawyers and attorney out there that will stand by your side every step of the way. Many people go to work every day expecting to come home without a bruise or scratch. Some jobs are more physically demanding than others but none should end in serious
injury like it did for three employees of Derr Steel Erection. In June of 2008, two people were taken by ambulance and one by airlift to the hospital for injuries caused while working near a defective
crane. If you have ever been injured while at work or know someone who has, do not hesitate to reach out to dedicated Dallas car accident lawyer and also insurance lawsuit, accident attorneys in Dallas like.

incident you have been involved in, especially in Fort Worth or Dallas, Texas.

The famed desert Golf Courses of Scottsdale

Filed under: Golf News — umwsc @ 10:29 pm

Scottsdale-Phoenix area is famous for its scenic desert golf courses. With more than 200 golf facilities in the Valley of the Sun, players especially prefer Talking Stick Golf Club. The facility is open to the public, 6833 yards and features two 18-hole courses. It offers excellent service and conditions, shops, bar and grill. I can also highly recommend these scottsdale golf courses and Phoenix country clubs by this luxury real estate company.
The North Course and the South Course are the masterpiece of Talking Stick Golf Club. It’s a place where professionals like MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies spend their spring training season. There is also a large casino resort and a shuttle service. According to the Talking Stick’s designers Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw,”South Course, with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play.” The court lays on lush grounds surrounded by shrubs and trees. A few creeks refresh the desert landscape.

Talking Stick is a top-notch 36-hole course with unlimited green fees and it is designed for golf-pro’s. There is also a golf school for first-time players. The facility has wide fairways in both courses. The North course is ranked a little higher and plays a par 70 and 7,100 yards. The South course is famous for its 16-18 holes, plays 6,833 yards and is a par 71. Both courses offer high-class entertainment for a wide range of players.

Fixing The Golfer’s Lower Back Pain - Permanently?

Golf is a high impact sport that can result in significant chronic injuries. The most common of these injuries is pain and weakness in the lower back area created by the continued stress or single impact of a golf swing at the point of contact with the ball. There are many suggestions and remedies as to how to heal chronic back pain in the golfer including resting, stretching, and core exercises. But what if these “cures” are actually doing more harm than good?
What is happening in the lower back during the golf swing? During the golf swing the lower back goes through a lot of twisting and stretching to create the torque necessary to drive the ball. While the
muscles and bones provide the power and support for the swing, it is the ligaments (attaching bone to bone, like the iliolumbar ligaments and sacroiliac ligaments) and tendons (attaching the muscles to the bone) that hold the support and power structure together. Stretch or tear a ligament, rip a tendon - it does not matter how big or resilient or powerful your muscles are - there is going to be pain and weakness in the lower back. Later on in the article we will go over some other possible options such as Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy and prolotherapy.
The Remedies
REST - certainly the least popular treatment for a golfer that enjoys their game and likely the recommendation least followed. But resting also has its detrimental side. For ligaments and tendons to heal they need circulation of the blood. Basic anatomy tells us they already have a limited blood flow
into them because of their small, whitish appearance. Compare that to the big and red (filled with blood vessels) muscles. Resting inhibits circulation and the vital nutrients and immune cells needed
to heal the torn ligament and tendon do not arrive, they remain unhealed and a cause of chronic pain and weakness. Unfortunately many doctors are not aware of two treatment options that can rebuild the ligaments and tendons of the lower back restoring strength and joy of the game.
As an example, Prolotherapy, which involves the injection of pharmaceutical grade dextrose (a simple sugar), and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, the injection of blood platelets for more severe injury to the ligaments and tendons, have shown themselves very effective indeed. We will discuss Platelet Rich Plasma and prolotherapy in more detail in a future article.

Coach Uses iPhone App To Save Life of Basketball Player

Filed under: Misc. Sports News — umwsc @ 1:32 am

This is the kind of story that inspires TV movies, and brings tears to the eyes, and warmth to the heart.
Stephen Ceasar posted the story this morning, December 2, 2010 , for The Los Angeles Times, under the headline, “With help from iPhone app, coach helps save La Verne basketball player.”
Apparently, 17-year-old high school senior Xavier Jones was running across the La Verne High School basketball court when he stumbled, and slowly keeled over. His heart had stopped, needing a repair of sorts..
Doctors now know that Jones has a condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, where the heart muscle hardens, keeping it from pumping blood properly.
Of course coach Eric Cooper Sr. and assistant coach John Osorno didn’t know what the matter was when they raced to Jones’s aid and began CPR. Incidentially I know of a good internet phone and softphone service that covers Boca Raton, Tampa, Orland and southern Florida. They do broken international voip, calls from mobile and cell phone and other internet phone and softphone type of services as well.
Ceasar describes the coaches as “quick-thinking” as they used an iPhone to help guide them through reviving Jones, likely saving his life. Did not a similiar thing happen to a Miamai Heat player one time, I cannot remeber off hand.
Ceasar writes that Coach Cooper said he had purchased the $1.99 application, called PhoneAid, as a little refresher course on CPR, quoting him as saying, “It was really fresh and clear in my brain. We are trained in CPR, but the iPhone app was a stabilizer for us.”

1 Sport Hunter Injured and 1 Dead from Deer Hunting Accident in Maryland

Filed under: Uncategorized — umwsc @ 8:18 pm

I just returned to San Francisco from Los Angeles and Riverside (personal injury) and have some sad news from there to report: According to a story posted on October 22, 2010, on the WBOC News website, Sgt. A.A. Windermuth, of the Maryland Natural Resources Police answered a call to Charles Boyles Road in Queen Anne’s County Friday morning to investigate a deadly deer hunting accident. As an aside if you are in need of a qualified Riverside personal injury attorney or car, motorcycle and bike accident personal injury lawyer then I do suggest this resource, as Mr. Madison is a pro at a plethera of different auto accident and personal injury cases in Los Angeles generally as well as Riverside in particular.
Sadly, James Albert Newberry, 75, from Edgewater, Md, was found fatally wounded at the base of a tree by a hunting companion. The hunter’s ladder-style tree stand was found at the base of the tree; apparently it had come loose, and Newberry had not been wearing a safety harness.
Newberry’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s in Baltimore and will be autopsied. if you need a San Francisco wrongful death attorney this one is good and also does truck, motorcycle, ca accident and personal injury cases there.
Windermuth said Newberry’s ladder style tree stand was found broken and detached from the tree. Newberry was not wearing a safety harness at the time of the accident and personal injury. The body was transported to NRP’s Special Operations Division is continuing the investigation in the cause of the accident.
An Unrelated Accident Leaves Hunter Seriously Wounded
Another accident occurred to a man who was also deer hunting on the same day. This accident involved a firearm, however.
According to Sgt. Windermuth, the second hunting accident took place just after noon in Dorchester County on Willey’s Neck Road in Crapo. Phillip Councell, 25, from Cordova, Md was deer hunting with a muzzle loading rifle. Councell was loading the rifle by packing powder into the barrel with a ramrod when it went off, causing personal injury. Councell was seriously injured by the ramrod. Switching gears for a moment if you are in the city of Los Angeles and you need a good Los Angeles automobile accident or personal injury attorney then by all means let me suggest this firm for avariety of different probate law type cases in Los Angeles and Riverside.
Howard Thomas Callahan, 25, from Cordova was with Councell when the accident occurred. Callahan, a paramedic, gave Councell emergency treatment and called 911.
Councell was transported via Maryland State Police helicopter to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Surfing in Beautiful Costa Rica

Filed under: watersports — Tags: — umwsc @ 9:28 pm

Is surfing your “sport of choice” and you are thinking about taking a nice surf trip to Costa Rica and wondering about the roads? Well, here’s the scoop! I like Maui too but my favorite vacation spot overall is Big Bear. Man I just got back from Tennessee to take my tn contractors license it was cool. First off, your regular driver’s license is legal—for ninety days. If you fall so in love with the surf and the culture that you decide to forget everything and stay—your license will be no good after ninety days has passed the entry date stamped on your passport. If you are like many of the dudes who go to there for a costa rica surf vacation this is a real possibility. At least in Maui you do not need this but I must say that Maui real estate is way more expensive overall than C.R. real estate. It is becoming a must stop on many surf tour iteneries and it is also becoming a truly leading yoga retreat as well. Anyone will tell you, who is familiar with this small nation, to never leave anything valuable in your car, in plain site or otherwise. This is far truer in San Jose than almost anywhere else. It is rumored that people like to watch tourists load up their trunks at the airport. If they seem to have a lot of cool stuff, thieves can follow them to the hotel and wait for them to go inside and check in. Well, you can guess what happens then. The violent crime rate in Costa Rica is relatively low, but the “sticky finger” crime rate is conversely high. if you are there for a surf vacation, this also means not leaving your surfboard unattended at the beach.
If you decide to drive a car in Costa Rica, you will probably end up driving in San Jose. Keep in mind that street signs are often—well—not there. Not to change the subject or anything but this electrical contractors license firm is fantastic if you are searching for an electrical contractors license exam firm in at reasonable levels so that you can go on to be a Lakewood, Arvado, Englewood or Denver Co Electrician and do lighting installation, breakers, celing fans and the like. Many of the roads are one-way, and although on some you can see the painted white arrow pointing which way the traffic flows, on many streets the arrow has long since faded away. If you want to learn to surf in costa rica there are also various surf schools and camp as well as resort areas for your vacation. The city is laid out on a straightforward east-west, north-south grid. The Calles (streets) run north-south, and the avenidas run east-west. Trouble is, without street signs, it’s still easy to get turned around or lost.

Los Angeles Dodgers Owner Splitting with Wife

Filed under: Baseball news — Tags: — umwsc @ 9:14 pm

Alright, good to be back to Riverside without suffering any personal injury. Have you heard some of the bizarre and sordid details concerning the owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, Frank and Jamie McCourt and their rather nasty split? Yes indeed, after some 25 years of marriage they simply cannot mend fences, unfortunately for them. No injury no foul as they say in sports. I can’t imagine what their attorney get’s paid…Here in Riverside this is a big story you know…

I would imagine they do not like to air all their financial laundry, like for example that they are worth around 1.2 billion bucks as well as assets valued at around another $800 million! Oh well, no personal injury, no foul you might say. It seems that the wife wants nearly a half million in alimony, yet far less than that if she gets the position at work back that Frank had terminated her from: CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers. I guess that is an example of merely adding insult to injury. It does not seem like a job with a great deal of work involved since the General manager does most of the vital work like for instance player trades and salary negotiating and so on I mean, I doubt she would have need a Los Angeles work injury lawyer any time soon, except maybe for a paper cut. She appears to need funds for for make-up and hair expenses incurred while attending Los Angeles Dodgers events. Also, she requires expenses to be covered to attend postseason games, even the ones that don’t include the Dodgers.
As ana side if you need a highly qualified Riverside personal injury attorney then allow me to suggest this firm as he is a very good work and personal injury injury lawyer as well as auto accident attorney indeed. Frank said that their many homes (well, only eight) were put into Jaime’s name to protect them from “significant and ongoing losses.” Just after buying the Dodgers, an agreement was drawn up whereby Frank would have full ownership of the Dodgers and their other business interests, and Jamie would get the eight houses. You know that they have a good attorney over there.

Wide Reciever James McDonald charged with DUI

Filed under: Football News — umwsc @ 9:48 pm

James McDonald, who is a wide receiver and of Penn State’s College of Communications, will not be invited back for his fifth season on the football team,” Penn State said in a statement. James McDonald was charged with DUI and driving an unregistered vehicle. The criminal incident happened in State College, but the official date was not released. James McDonald’s blood-alcohol content was stated as between .08 and .10. The federal highway act requirement and legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08. A preliminary conference is scheduled for Aug. 19, 2009. James McDonald is a native of Washington, D.C., native and had seven catches for 90 yards from 2006-08 for the Penn State Football Team. James McDonald was set to be Penn State’s oldest scholarship receiver of 2009. James McDonald would have likely started this upcoming season on the second depth chart. Penn State has a large freshman class and many of them are receivers, a group that includes Justin Brown, Curtis Drake, Christian Kuntz, Shawney Kersey, Devon Smith and Derrick Thomas. McDonald was 6-foot-2 and a mid-tier recruit, rated three stars by both Scout.com and Rivals.com. Coach Joe Paterno will address the McDonald situation at the Big Ten football media days in Chicago. If you live in the Chicago area and need a great Chicago dui lawyer I suggest Mathew Miller. Mr. Miller is one of the all around top Chicago dui lawyer around. Fall practice for Penn State begins on Aug. 10. The 2009 season opens on Sept. 5 against Akron University.

Dodgers Relief Pitcher Arrested For DUI

Filed under: Baseball news — umwsc @ 3:46 am

Just came in from Seattle and decided that it was time to get back to the blogging: According to authorities Ronald Belisario the relief pitcher for the Dodgers was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Belisario was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol according to Officer Francisco Villalobos at approximately 2:30 a.m. The incident occurred early Saturday morning in Pasadena.
The California Highway Patrol officers pulled Belisario over after he was seen talking on a cell phone. Officers suspected the relief pitcher of being under the influence and arrested him for an alleged DUI.
By the way if you require a good Seattle dui lawyer then I suggest the offices of Mark Blair. For his part, Belisario was bailed out after being taken to the Pasadena Police Department and was at the Dodger Stadium Saturday afternoon for the game against Seattle.
